STEPS was thrilled to host 5th grade students at YMCA Camp Sloper for activities aimed to help with their transition to Middle School. Along with fun ice-breakers and a couple of activities with the whole group, these Southington students attended two workshops on:
- Planning Ahead: How to constructively use time and resources to ensure success
- Resistance Skills: Resisting negative peer pressure and understanding the danger of risk-taking behaviors
A HUGE thank you to YMCA Camp Sloper and the Southington Police Department for being our partners in prevention. We would also like to thank all the students and parents that registered for this after-school, voluntary event!
